I'm stupid and I don't understand.
Do I see more, do I see the bigger picture?
Or am I just so consumed by my own being
and my own thoughts
and my own arrogance
that I can't truly tell wrong from right,
or black from white -
so far inside my own head that it is I,
not the sun nor the moon
who determines day and night.

I feel like I'm the one who understands,
who reads between your lines,
who sees behind the lies,
and it is YOU who is stupid,
who does not comprehend,
whose mind is simple
and uneducated.

But only the fool thinks himself a wise man,
where the wise man knows himself to be a fool.

Still,
whether wise man or fool,
I am stupid.
